At the start of The Reunion, the sixth book in the Jake Winters Series, we find Jake sitting in his attorney’s offi ce – without Peter. Peter does not have a Social Security number or a birth certifi cate; therefore, he has been removed from Jake by the New York State Child Welfare Department just minutes earlier. Jake’s little angel is gone.

Up until then, Peter and Jake had been together for thirteen months. And what a time it had been for both of them. Peter, a product of the nineteenth century, was murdered by his father in 1901 at age six. He was a victim of child abuse practically since his birth. But now Peter is an angel, a messenger of God, and Jake’s guardian angel. And Jake, as decreed by God, is Peter’s angel guardian while Peter is in his mortal body, which is most of the time. Jake’s responsibility is to care for Peter both physically and emotionally while providing Peter with the caring, happy and loving childhood he never had. Jake has been extremely successful and Jake and Peter have become a loving team. As a mortal, Peter depends heavily on Jake’s loving care.

But what now? Peter has been removed from Jake’s care to an unknown foster home. And it’s uncertain whether Jake will ever see Peter again. Yet God promised the two of them they could remain together forever. Will God allow this separation to stand and if not, when and how will Jake and Peter be reunited? It appears Jake is in for the fight of his life.
